I visited this hot pot restaurant a couple
of week’s ago and I can confidently say it’s actually pretty good. Yes you can buy these ingredients at an asian store and yes you can probably make it cheaper if you do it at home but it’s a restaurant, obviously you’re going to spend more money. 9/10 from me.
Staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to help with recommendations and the food? Absolutely delicious. We did have a bonus of having actual asian speakers on our table so they made sure we had the best options.
The highlight, of course, was the hot pot itself. They offered three different soup bases: chili, tomato, and mushroom. We went with two chili broths (for the spice lovers at the table), and the tomato and mushroom bases for balance. Each broth was alright, an okay foundation for all the incredible fix-ins.
And wow, the variety of ingredients was insane! There was something for everyone: tender slices of beef and lamb, beef tripe, shrimp paste, quail eggs, an array of mushrooms, fresh vegetables, sweet potato noodles, rice cakes, and even brains for the adventurous eaters. On top of that, they had a selection of cold dishes like fungus salad, thinly sliced beef and ox tongue, and even duck tongue. Everything was flavorful, and paired perfectly with the customizable dipping sauces.
The best part? It’s all reasonably priced. For just £20-£30 per person (5-6 people) (including drinks), we walked away completely stuffed and happy. It’s such great value for the quality and variety of food you get.
If you’re a fan of hot pot or just looking for a fun, interactive dining experience, this place is an absolute must. Whether you’re going with friends or family, you’re in for a treat.
